Assignment: Using information on the phases of the database life cycle

Using information on the phases of the database life cycle learned from this week’s readings and lesson, update your colleagues on your database project. Explain your reasoning for identifying the current phase of your database. Discuss how you will test your database, including your reasons for this plan. Imagine that the work on your database will continue after this term and provide ideas for completing one of the remaining phases. Explain why the chosen phase is important. These phases include implementation, operations and maintenance, and evolution.

Note: testing does not require using software, such as Access. If you have been working on paper or with Word or Excel, there are methods for testing your database ideas. What is important in this discussion is that you have a plan and rationales for the plan. Discuss manual testing options with your student peers and your instructor.
