A Review of a Qualitative and Quantitative Article
Adams (2012) of the Schmidt and Brown (2012) text book stated “there are an infinite number of nursing problems that merit investigation” (p 67) and that “nursing, like all healthcare professions, is constantly seeking ways to improve clinical outcomes and promote health across the lifespan” (p 68). There are two types of studies that are commonly used in research, qualitative and quantitative. The purpose of this paper is to determine if quantitative data supports that including patient hand hygiene decreases clostridium difficile (C. difficile) infections and if qualitative data supports a successful delivery of family-centered care (FCC) by adult-trained perioperative nurses.

Walden University
NURS 4000/4001, Section 14, Research and Scholarship for Evidence-Based Practice
Decreasing Medications Errors
Patient safety is singularly the most important item for any healthcare facility. Although facilities push for patient safety, medication errors are high on the list of safety concerns that happen several times daily worldwide ranging from non-life threatening to the demise of patients. The purpose of this assignment is to discuss some of the reasons why medication errors occur and steps that can be used to decrease the frequency of this problem.
