PSY8711 Cappella University Work Life Balance Annotated Bibliography
Project Topic and Annotated Bibliography
In this assignment, you will introduce your project topic with an annotated bibliography as the beginning of your course project. You will investigate a topic in your specialization area for your project. In addition, since ethics is so fundamental to the field of psychology, you will make a preliminary assessment of ethical concerns that should be considered in relation to your topic.
Review the Applying Theory to Practice course project description. For your annotated bibliography, present at least seven current, peer-reviewed journal articles from the literature of the field that address your chosen subfield of I/O psychology. (For the purposes of this assignment, current resources are defined as materials written within the last 3–5 years.) Use the I/O topic guides in the Capella library (linked in Resources). Incorporate both theoretical and empirical studies in your annotated bibliography. Focus your research on the current practices in your chosen subfield and on the historical and theoretical background that has influenced its development.

Select the most relevant resources from your research thus far, and write a full APA reference for each. Complete a bibliographical annotation for each of your resources, incorporating a brief summary of each article, an evaluation of its relevance to your project topic, any ethical concerns, and the other features of a complete annotation (as outlined in the instructions below). The annotation for each resource should be no more than two paragraphs in length.
The following instructions, adapted from J. D. Lester’s Writing Research Papers, outline general guidelines for approaching your annotated bibliography:
- List the complete APA citation for the material.
- Explain the main purpose of the material.
- Briefly describe the content in a 1–2 paragraph summary.
- Evaluate the relevance of the information and indicate how you think it applies well to your subject in one paragraph.
- Note any special features of the material, including tables or graphs, that contribute to its value.
- Identify any ethical considerations, if appropriate.
Refer to additional helpful links in Resources for further guidance on writing your annotated bibliography.
